Holidays

This is my favorite time of year. I loved watching the girls faces as we put up the Christmas tree and lights on the house. But most of all I love telling them about the real reason we celebrate Christmas. They like to say "Happy Birthday Jesus" over and over again. I can't wait to see them sing in our Church Christmas program this weekend!

I took the girls picture today for our Christmas cards. They loved getting dressed up :)

Well, I better get the girls ready for bed. Hope everyone has a great week!

Update on My Mom

It's been a while, I know. My Mom is doing much better. She is still on insulin but she is making adjustments to her diet and has already lost some weight. They will be here on Tuesday for Thanksgiving along with my brother. This will be our first Thanksgiving in our new home so we're really excited.

I will get new pictures up as soon as I have some new ones. Hopefully next week. Between working and the home life it's hard.

Well, we have to go to the store to pick up some bar stools for our kitchen. I have gift cards so hopefully we won't have to spend too much money :)

I pray that everyone is having a restful weekend. Another week is coming but let's just take each day as they come and remember who is really in control. I look forward to reading everyones blogs today.

Have a super day,

Julia

The Diabetic Gene

My Mom has been hospitalized for high blood sugar and pancreatitis. Her bs levels were 500 and that is not good. She will have to be on insulin for a while to bring it down. This explains the attacks she has had lately, which is the pancreatitis. She has always been border line diabetic but I think this has put her into type 2. Of course if she has to take insulin permanently she will be type 1.

This has been a wake up call for our family. I have spent the past six months trying to eat better and exercise and I have slipped so many times. But I can't anymore. I have the diabetic gene from both my Mom and Dad and I too am already fighting high blood sugar.

I plan to do some research on diabetic eating and living. Changing our eating completely. Tom and I plus the girls are members of a Christian gym in Kuna called Freedom Fitness. It's an awesome place to workout. They play Christian music and the owner is an amazing guy. His family is devoted to helping other families get fit. They have a daycare in the gym so we are able to work out as a family now.

I would like to throw a challenge out to the readers of this. Let's get not only our bodies in shape and healthy so we can live a better life but let's do it so that we can be the men and women God called us to be. I believe with all my heart that God wants us to be healthy and take care of our bodies because as Christian, we have Christ in our hearts and how can we do what he has called us to do if we are not in the proper shape to do it? I'm not saying if you don't exercise you can't do God's work. What I am saying is that we must take care of what God has given us.

I'm going to kick up my exercise routine and learn more about nutrition. If you have time, blog and let me know what you want to do for this challenge?

On a happier note, Tom has a new job as a trainer so he will be on a day shift now. This means we can attend Wed. night Church together as a family and he will be home more plus no TDY's :) It's an answer to prayer for our family.

Pumpkin Patch

What an awesome weekend we had! Every year our family goes to the pumpkin patch and we have a blast :) Natalie got to pick out her pumpkin, Kailey had already picked one out from her preschool field trip, and to our surprise she picked a very small one. Her pumpkin fits in my hand. We asked her if that was what she wanted, because he couldn't carve the small ones and she said yes. We got two more pumpkins and let the girls play on the big bouncy pillow, ride the cow train and we all got a kick out of watching the pig races. Then we cleaned up and headed to Church.

I have been hit with my yearly sinus infection so I'm feeling kind of poopy this week. The Lord has given me strength to make it through. I've tried not to be grouchy towards the girls but sometimes it's hard. I try to keep the grumbles to myself but when I don't, I feel so bad inside. It's hard being a Mom and being sick. Especially when Tom is working nights and we miss him so much. When I'm trying to go to sleep I will think about all this and wonder how I got through the day? It's an easy answer....God.

So thank you Lord for getting me, and anyone reading this, through another day and please help prepare us for tomorrow. Have a good night everyone!

Happy Birthday Kailey!

The big 5! Kailey had an awesome birthday :) I love our babies birthdays. It's a wonderful day to to rejoice for the blessings God gives us as parents. I can't believe our baby girl is starting Kindergarten next year. She is a an amazing big sister to little Nat. Everyone at Church thinks they are twins but they aren't, although with how close they are in age they might as well be :)

Tom and I have some cleaning to do and of course football to watch! We had an awesome time in Church last night, the message really hit home for me. Hope everyone is having a blessed day and enjoying some family time.

In Him,

Julia

I'm still here!

So I've been out of the loop for a while. I started a new job and even though I have every Friday off, I have to play catch up on laundry, cleaning and spending time with the kiddies :) I have been keeping up with your blogs though :)

Fall is officially here, yea! I love the trees turning colors of orange, brown and yellow plus the cool breezes. Kailey and Natalie began Cubbies at Church and they love it! I am back singing with Praise Choir and Tuesday I am auditioning for the Vocal Placement. Honestly, I'm not nervous about it. I have been singing for a very long time and it's something I love to do and I don't look at it as something to be nervous about. Now, if I was singing in front a packed arena that would be another story! But I love singing in Church and while at one time I was pursuing a music career, God closed the door on that and led me in a different direction. I have been extremely blessed ever since and very happy, so to me it's affirmation that God truly has the best planned for us! His way is perfect :)

This Church has been such a blessing for us. The girls are really growing in Jr. Church and Cubbies. They get so excited when they hear their Bible stories and when we memorize verses they don't look at it as a chore. It's fun to them, and that makes my heart jump :)

Tom is busy working and going TDY. We miss him so much :( He's my best friend, my love, the only man of my dreams :) And to the girls, he's their world! He's a big mountain they can climb on and snuggle with. He helps me out so much when I'm at work. He cooks for us and will make me a nice bath when I don't feel good. But more than all of this, he's just there for us. He's supportive and he loves God with all his heart. His desire is for our family to grow in Christ and follow his direction, not our own. When he's not home, it's lonely :( But he is serving our country and for that we are very proud of him!

Well, I better go get ready for the day. Tom and I are reading the Five Languages of Love by Gary Chapman. Kind of taking a break from the usual devotion books for couples. I'll let you know how it goes. Have a blessed week, and may God be glorified in all we do!

Julia

P.S. Kailey's birthday pictures will be posted soon!
